I've carped about Holst's statue previously. Here he was today, in the snow, conducting in the direction of the "Eagle Star" building.
Pevsner describes this 40-year-old monstrosity as a "lumpish... insensitive 13-storey... mistake."
Who am I to say that statue and building weren't both ill-judged?
